Overview
Since the 1940's, NASA Lewis Research Center has played a major role in the success
achieved by the agency on several fronts. From
the early days of Aeronautics to Space
Operations, from Science to Exploration, the Engineering Directorate has provided the support
necessary to achieve mission success at the highest level. Support includes but is
not limited to: concept exploration and requirements development, preliminary design, detailed
design, development, manufacturing, test, verification, certification, flight/mission sustainment,
and disposal. This support is provided across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including:
